Walks in Stroud

Stroud gentle walks – 10:30am on Fridays

Our Stroud gentle park walks are accessible to those living with dementia and those who would benefit from a gentle walk. They’re wheelchair friendly and not too strenuous. We meet at 10:30am at the Museum in the Park, Stratford Park, for refreshments and light conversation before beginning the walk at 11am.

The walks are free to participate in, but you will need to pay for any coffee and tea.

There’s no need to book in advance for our Stroud walks – just turn up on the day and introduce yourself. If you’d like any more information about the walks, please contact Chris at our Stroud office on 01453 706555.

Walks in Nailsworth

Nailsworth dementia-friendly walks – 10:30am on Wednesdays

Fair Shares has also been working with the Dementia Friendly Nailsworth group to try and get park walks started in their area. We’re happy to say that they have now begun and will hopefully be continuing for the foreseeable future.

Trained volunteers support the two-hour long walk at Ruskin Mill which includes refreshments at the Ruskin Mill Cafe.

As with the Stroud walks, they are wheelchair friendly. If you usually have a carer, then they should accompany you as well as family or friends if you’d like.

The walks start at 10:30am, meet at Ruskin Mill.

If you’d like any more information, or to book a place on a Nailsworth walk, contact Clare on 01453 832901 or email clarejanik@hotmail.co.uk
